Monumenta Serica Publications

The Monumenta Serica - Journal of Oriental Studies is mainly dedicated to Chinese culture, but its Chinese title, Huayi xuezhi (i.e., Scholary Journal on China and Neighbouring Countries), points to the fact that contributions concerning subjects such as Japanese, Mongol, Manchu, Tibetan, or Korean Studies may also be published, if closely related to China. The journal is published annually. A valuable aid for gaining access to the materials published in the first 35 volumes of Monumenta Serica is the Index published by Roman Malek S.V.D. in 1993.

The Monumenta Serica Monograph Series comprises 71 titles up to now, with an average of two titles published every year. Special attention is paid to the field of Chinese religions and history of Christianity in China.

The Collectanea Serica comprises seventeen titles up to now. These are works on China - directed to a more general readership than the Monumenta Serica Monograph Series - published mostly in cooperation with other institutions, especially the China-Zentrum.
