Dr. Barbara Hoster 巴佩蘭

HosterBarbara Hoster studied Sinology and German Language and Literature at the University of Bonn and Chinese language at Nanjing University. She obtained a Ph.D. in Sinology at the University of Bonn, with a thesis on the Chinese woman writer Su Xuelin (1897–1999). At the Monumenta Serica Institute she works as an editor and also participates in organizing conferences, exhibitions and other academic events held by the Institute. Her research interests include modern and contemporary Chinese literature and its relation to the Christian faith, the history of religions in China, in particular of Christianity and Judaism, as well as the history of Sinology.
